The Michael Oremus Alumni Soccer Tournament

In loving memory of Highland’s 2002 graduate, Corporal Michael Oremus, his friends and the Michael Oremus Foundation host an annual soccer tournament in Michael’s memory. Highland is a town with a longstanding soccer tradition, including multiple

championships and a youth soccer program that has strengthened the community it serves. On November 12th, 2006 the first Michael Oremus Alumni Soccer game was held at the Hudson Valley Sports dome and over 100 Highland alumni soccer players joined the action. This event also serves as the Foundation’s top fundraising event. The tournament has grown in participation since the first one was held in 2006 and includes alumni of the Highland High School soccer teams along with Michael’s friends and and many other teams invited to play in this tournament honoring Michael.
